8. What is a shared cache, and how to enable it?

Ans: To improve application performance, we can enable cache. When you enable shared cache, the system assumes that a preloaded cache exists in the shared directory. It usually contains the managed object types cached to a file. When the application server is run and it does not find the cache file, it reverts back to unshared caching.

To enable shared cache, set the ServerCacheMode prompt to 1. The cache files will get stored to PS_CFG_HOME\appserv\domain\cache\share.
