Report Repository Directory - It is a location in the webserver where reports and log files are stored.

7. What is the purge process?
Ans: The purge process is used to update the statistics of tables before deleting the entries. If the purge process is enabled, it also deletes the subdirectories in the Log_Output directory that are associated with the purged process requests. It checks the expiry date of the tables and purges them if the expiry date is crossed.
8. What is a shared cache, and how to enable it?
Ans: To improve application performance, we can enable cache. When you enable shared cache, the system assumes that a preloaded cache exists in the shared directory. It usually contains the managed object types cached to a file. When the application server is run and it does not find the cache file, it reverts back to unshared caching.
To enable shared cache, set the ServerCacheMode prompt to 1. The cache files will get stored to PS_CFG_HOME\appserv\domain\cache\share.

9. Explain the types of logical sets of tables in the PeopleSoft database?
Ans: PeopleSoft database contains three major sets of tables.
System Catalog tables - It stores the physical attributes of tables and views that are used to optimize performance.
PeopleTools tables - It stores the information about the installed PeopleSoft. It also holds the structure of specific objects.
