SAP SCM: SCM is considered as the Master Level which involves Logistic general and logistics execution. SCM refers to supply chain management is responsible for integrating the resources of both the materials or services and manpower and performing the execution based on the activities ranging from the supplier to the customer. Apart from that, it also includes some strategic activities like demand planning, safety stock, forecasting along with the operational level management activity results that will help in increased productivity and need to higher profits to the organization.



SAP MM: 



Also is considered as one of the important parts of the logistics department, calling it to be one of the internal parts of the supply chain management, the finest functional module in SAP. SAP MM has also got some of the core functions and Central functions. Core functions include the functions that are specific to a specific module. 



In SAP R/3, specific to the SAP MM, it is mainly about: 


1. Master data like Vendor Master, Service Master, Material Master along with the source list, quota management. 


2. Transactional data like account determination, procure-to-pay, inventory management, LIV process, etc.
