What is Azure Sphere?

Microsoft Azure Sphere is a defence-in-depth IoT platform used to protect devices and networks. It basically has three components - a secure system-on-chip (SoC) device, a secure operating system, and a secure cloud service. It contains built-in communication and security features for internet connected devices. The Azure Sphere microcontroller is launched to replace the traditional microcontrollers (MCU). It comes with real-time processing capabilities. It also provides a runtime and libraries through which we can develop applications that communicate with the sensors and actuators that are connected to the MCU.
